G'day

I’m Chris – an Australian audio branding and sound design specialist with over 15 years’ experience working across commercial radio, community stations, podcasts and branded content.

I help bring clarity and consistency to sound – building audio that’s confident, deliberate and designed to actually be used. The kind of sound that gives shows identity, brands recognition, and listeners a reason to stay.

We All Start Somewhere

Like most people in audio, I didn’t really start with a master plan – I actually wanted to be on the air! I started by asking questions, working across multiple departments in radio (like content, promotions, panel operating, producing and digital) and saying yes to many opportunities, which led to the love of all things audio.

After studying Commercial Radio at Charles Sturt University, I cut my teeth inside a major radio network, learning quickly what actually works on air, what doesn’t, and why intention matters more than tricks or trends. Ah, I also learnt to listen to the lyrics of every song when loading them into the playout system… P!nk got me real good!

Fifteen Years of Audio Branding — Thousands of Cuts

Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked across Australian commercial and community radio, podcasting, and branded audio. More recently, I’ve joined the team at Benztown – introducing new imaging styles, helping stations punch above their weight, and rethinking how sound supports content rather than distracting from it.

Highlights include:

      • Introducing drum & bass imaging to Australian radio

      • Building audio branding for stations across Australia and New Zealand

      • Helping community stations sound polished, confident, and competitive

      • Working with broadcasters, podcasters, and brands who care about quality

      • Being trusted for fast turnarounds, clear communication, and reliable delivery

My Work Ethos

Good audio branding isn’t about being loud – it’s about being recognisable. When sound is intentional, it supports content, strengthens identity, and makes everything feel more considered.

There’s also the understanding that technology is a tool, not the magic. I use whatever serves the story – whether it human or AI voices, light or heavy processing, or just stripped-back simplicity. Rarely would I let the tech outrun the idea.

And the biggest one of all, collaboration beats ego. Most of the best ideas usually come from working through things together (and as life would have it, the silliest brainstorms can have the perfect outcome).

Outside The Studio

When I’m not working on audio branding projects, you’ll usually find me somewhere between the Mid-North and South Coast of NSW – travelling, chasing good coffee, listening to music, or figuring out how sound fits into the next project.

And you betcha – my two dogs, Iggy and Shazza, rule life.

Ready To Own Their Ears?

Whether you’re launching a new radio station or show, need a full scale production reset, refreshing a podcast, or you feel your sound is lacking something, let’s talk.

I’m always happy to share ideas, suggest realistic options, or put together a quick demo so you can hear exactly how something would sound.

Great audio doesn’t happen by accident.

As an Australian audio producer who’s spent more than 15 years working across radio, podcasts and branded content, I’ve learned that sound isn’t just decoration – it’s identity. It shapes how something feels long before anyone consciously notices it.

I work across broadcast, podcasts and brand projects, helping creators and teams bring clarity and cohesion to their sound. Whether it’s station imaging, podcast framework or a branded audio piece, my focus is always the same: build something intentional, consistent and designed to sing.

No two projects are identical. But the thinking behind them is – clear structure, confident execution and audio that earns its place.
